Directly mention OMT/osteopathy in personal statement?

I am writing a different personal statement for my AACOMAS primary application, and I am directly talking about my DO shadowing experience which involves heavy use of OMT. Is this a good idea?

I've heard people saying that you should save the "why DO" for your secondary applications. Will it hurt me if I dedicate a good portion of my personal statement towards why I am drawn towards DO?

I don't want to simply recycle my AMCAS personal statement.
